Owl to early bird

How I went from being a night owl to an early bird I decided to create this blog because I've always suffered from insomnia for as long as I can remember and kind of accepted it like it's part of my DNA so I wasn't convinced there was loads I could do to change this but oh how I was wrong! It's fair to say sorting my sleep is something I'm sadly proud of and now, I honestly believe if I can fix my insomnia, anyone can because up until recently I was that person that just didn't sleep enough. I was the first person other people would contact if they couldn't sleep. I was super approachable at the wrong hours because everyone who knew me would know I would be up.  Now after some changes, I can proudly say I go to bed at around ten every night and wake up at six am every morning and yes I actually get up and do things at that hour so here are my tips if you want to a better sleeping pattern. Wake up early every single morning no matter what. Eventually your sle...

Study Techniques I use

How I study  So I previously created a blog post on how to motivate yourself whilst working from home but this blog post will go into more detail about specifics. My work style might not be for you but I thought I'd share them in case they're helpful for anyone else.  Motivation and studying begin when you show up. Show up for yourself and show up for others. This means be present during lectures whether they are on zoom calls or attending a lecture.  By that I mean give them your full attention, it's not enough to just be there, you have to be engaged so make it a priority to pay attention to everything been said. This makes everything that follows after easier. If you haven't showed up to a zoom call or aren't giving it your full attention then you aren't going to get the full benefits of them. Lectures are there to help us and they're how we learn so when you fail to attend them then the work is going to feel less familiar.  When you don't show up or ...

Staying motivated whilst studying from home

How to stay motivated when you study from home I've managed to enjoy doing my college work from home so I thought I would share my tips for anyone who wants to be more self-motivated. I think the most important thing to consider whether you're working from home or not is to choose a course you're passionate about and naturally good at. If you choose something that isn't your passion then that's a challenge in itself. I don't think there's any shame in taking some time out to figure out what you want to get out of your education. This can take many years and I'm so glad I've decided to study at 24 years old because I've made the right choice and it's definitely not something I would of considered in my teens so my advice would be choose wisely and get to know yourself. If you're young, I would start thinking about your future now as there's so many things to consider.  Organisation is key. My memory isn't as good as other peoples, ...

All about me

50 Facts about me _timpany I've started a blog to compliment my personal Instagram. I'm going to kickstart this with some detailed facts about me. I'm a fashion student, currently at City of Glasgow College in Scotland studying Fashion and Retail. I have my own fashion blog under @silkandpeony (same as my fashion Instagram). I'm 24 years old. I love travelling. Life's too short to see the same places all the time so I always pick somewhere new to explore each time I go abroad.  I find baths and showers therapeutic so I'm big on the self-care. I love dogs, golden retrievers in particular because I love their cuddly coat. I'd love to go to a Safari one day, I'm an animal person. My favourite colour to wear is red because it suits me best. My favourite colour scheme for my bedroom is a light amethyst because it makes me feel feminine and calm.  I have an interest in Interior Design. I like things to look aesthetically pleasing. I was a shy child. I laugh a...
